Disney+ IMAX Enhanced is a streaming format that allows select films and shows on Disney+ to be presented with improved picture and sound quality. This format has been developed by Disney in collaboration with IMAX, a company known for producing high-quality movie screens and audiovisual technology.
IMAX Enhanced content on Disney+ is designed to take full advantage of the capabilities of IMAX home theater systems. The enhanced IMAX content on Disney+ has an expanded aspect ratio of 1.90:1. This is different from most movies where the picture looks wide, but doesn’t take up the full height of your screen. This includes support for HDR (High Dynamic Range) video, which provides a wider range of colors and contrast levels, as well as DTS:X audio, which delivers immersive, object-based sound.
Some of the movies and shows available on Disney+ in IMAX Enhanced format include “The Lion King,” “Captain Marvel,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Black Panther,” and “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” series.
All Disney+ subscribers can experience select movies in IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio, on any supported device.

Note: Some movies only have select sequences filmed in IMAX’s expanded aspect ratio. Read the description in the Versions tab to see if the expanded aspect ratio is available throughout the entire movie.
