Broadway musical Come From Away’s film version is available on Apple TV+. The film is produced in response to the shutdown of Broadway caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring of 2020. Filmed at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theater in New York City, the Tony Award-winning musical tells the remarkable true story of 38 flights grounded in a small Canadian town on September 11, 2001. More than 7,000 people were stranded after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. These people were generously welcomed into the town of Gander, Newfoundland where they forged life-long friendships. As the locals host these “come from aways,” they come together and find hope.
