Netflix keeps a running list of your watch history called viewing activity. This feature enables Netflix to provide personalized recommendations based on your watching habits, thereby enhancing the overall user experience. It can be particularly helpful when you’re trying to find a movie you enjoyed but can’t remember the name.
However, there may be instances where you’d prefer specific titles not to influence future recommendations. In such cases, you can take control by accessing your Netflix watch history and removing certain titles. Here’s a guide on how to find and manage your viewing activity on Netflix.
Netflix allows you to view TV shows and movies being watched by each profile under your account. Follow the steps below to see the watch history.
You can see a list of everything you’ve watched from the Viewing Activity page. Then you can easily locate those titles that have slipped your memory.
When you hide a title from your Netflix watch history, it will no longer show in the viewing activity. Netflix will not use it to make recommendations unless you watch it again, and it will also be removed from the Continue Watching row.
If you want to hide titles from your Netflix viewing history, follow the guide below.
Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for a hidden title to be removed from all of your devices. Keep in mind that titles cannot be hidden if you access the Activity page from a Netflix Kids profile.
Netflix also provides the option to download your watch history. Select Download All at the bottom of the Activity page to download it into a spreadsheet list. The downloaded file can be opened using any spreadsheet software that supports the CSV file format.
Netflix ad-free subscribers can download selected titles from the Netflix app. Downloaded Netflix titles will expire after some time, and some have a limit on how many times they can be downloaded per year. Some titles will expire 48 hours after you first press play.
Additionally, downloaded titles can only be accessed through the Netflix app on the device used to download them. They cannot be transferred to other devices or stored in external storage. If you want to download Netflix titles with Standard (ad-supported) membership or watch them offline on Mac or TV, you can download them to MP4 with Pazu Netflix Video Downloader.
Pazu Netflix Video Downloader allows Netflix users to download Netflix videos without the Netflix app. It can bypass the DRM from Netflix and download movies and TV shows from Netflix to MP4 and MKV. The converted files can be preserved in high quality as 1080p after a fast download. Also, subtitles and audio tracks can be kept 100% the same as the original video. It also gets rid of all Netflix download limitations, such as expiration issues, device quantity limits, etc.
